About me

Hello - my name is Kati Goodliffe. I became particularly interested in cake making and decoration in 1992 when I saw an advert for tuition in the window of a sugarcraft supplier. I had always been interested in arts and crafts and had established a successful business selling costume jewellery in Covent Garden market in London. I was so taken with sugarcraft that I followed this tuition with a City and Guilds course and decided that I wanted to make and decorate cakes on a regular basis and turn my hobby into a business. Now several years and hundreds of cakes later I am in that exact position, having formed 'Special Cakes for Special Occasions'.

In consultation with my clients I design and make all my own cakes to the highest possible standards. I am not interested in mass-producing cakes for a quick profit and will not cut corners to save time or money. Even the simplest cake deserves care and attention to detail.

I am a regular exhibitor at sugarcraft shows up and down the country and have won several prizes for my work. I also lecture to sugarcraft guilds and often work for our local council conducting community education sessions for the elderly. Furthermore I have also written a number of articles for Cakes and Sugarcraft magazine.

Although sugarcraft is now my work it was, is and will always be my pleasure and it will be my pleasure to create that 'special cake' for your 'special occasion'.
